Pressure and Performance: The performance table drawn by Robert Yerkes and John Dodson in 1908, describes the relation between the pressure and performance. The examinations sometimes create huge pressure over the students as this is considered as one of the important factor for the future of the individual. Pressure whether that is work related or due to some other factors impacts the students. At the initial stage the low pressure cause boredom but when the pressure escalates the work becomes challenging at the thresholds level the work and performance become best but as the pressure increases with time the situation starts to become more tensed and peoples starts to feel unhappy and depressed. The cortisol level is different for each individual, which is further divided into low and high concentration of the cortisol. Low level of cortisol resp onders has higher baseline stress, but in the case of the high concentration of cortisol the stress level varies. Studies have shown that written examination may or may not cause increase in the cortisol levels but the oral examination does. In the oral examinations students feel more stressed and this has shown greater cortisol release and feeling of anxiety then the written examination. According to Shah et.al that there only acute stressors may affect academic performance. (Shah, 2010). Its also found that there is a negative impact of efficient counseling services in colleges may help the student to make the performance better and overcome the stress. The resulting reduction in oil prices is expected to promote rapid economic growth. Therefore, several wells have to be drilled in order to achieve the desired production level. This will significantly increase the cost of supplying oil. Undoubtedly, oil companies will pass the high production costs to consumers in the long-term. In this context, it will not be possible to achieve energy security since consumers will switch to cheap oil imports to avoid high production costs. International Oil Prices The increase in oil production has already resulted into a reduction in oil prices in the US. Therefore, oil producers have to look for external markets to avoid the losses that they are likely to make as increased supply continue to exert a downward pressure on prices. However, a significant increase in supply from the US will inevitably reduce international oil prices, thereby exposing oil producers to the risk of making huge losses. This risk might be mitigated in the short term b y OPEC’s ability to regulate international oil prices by changing its production capacity. For instance, international oil prices are expected to remain above USD 80 per barrel in 2015 if OPEC reduces its daily output by 2 million barrels in response to increased supply from the US.  However, OPEC’s ability to limit its production capacity is increasingly becoming limited due to the financial challenges in its member countries. Currently, only Saudi Arabia is committed to reducing its production capacity to prevent price declines. This means that in the long-term OPEC will resort to a price war with the US in order to sell its oil in the international market. The resulting price decline will make tight oil production in the US unsustainable. Tight oil production is not viable at prices below USD 70 per barrel. For inst ance, ExxonMobil realised a 27% reduction in net income due to the 52% oil price decline in 2011 in the US. In particular, the US will have no moral basis to prevent emission of greenhouse gasses at the global level if it encourages the use of oil within its territories. The resulting increase in environmental degradation will cause a significant decline i n food production and poor health outcomes globally. Language state of chaos Essay The lexical choices made by Beckett in the first act show many things, such as the relationship between Estragon and Vladimir, and the confusion of the characters as to the time and the meaning of their actions. The main characters, Estragon and Vladimir, switch roles continually, so not using language as an expression of their selves, therefore the words used show no badge of identity. This shows interchangeability in the characters, so keeping the audience searching for the characters own distinctive personality. This role switching that not even the characters roles/ personalities are certain. This confusion is increased with the characters inclination to talk in adjacency pairs like they are both speaking from the same train of thought To say that the language is in a state of chaos suggests there is utter confusion in the play, the audience can hear and understand the individual words being said, but cannot put them into a relevant context or meaning. This chaos is seen frequently throughout Vladimir and Estragons conversations; although taking turns with one another while speaking, they do not engage in a conventional conversation, one character talks about one topic, while the other talks about a different subject all together. The first moment I have chosen reflects this chaotic language; the two characters talk about the bible, beginning in conventional adjacency pairs, Vladimir: Did you ever read the bible? In this moment in the play there is a lot of uncertainty for both the characters and the audience, which Beckett creates mainly via the language used by the two main protagonists. The characters are unsure about what the other is talking about, Estragon: Who? Vladimir: What? Estragon: Whats all this about? , and they are also uncertain of what really happens in the bible, Vladimir: But all four were there why believe him rather than the others? The audience is made uncertain of the meaning of the characters talking about the bible, it is near the start of the play so they do not know what is to come. My second moment is different form my first as Estragon and Vladimir are now joined by two passing characters, Pozzo and Lucky, although Lucky does not speak till later on in their meeting. Estragon and Vladimirs language in this moment is still chaotic, repeating themselves and each other, and showing confusion at what each other said, using the word what several times as a response. This chaos is shown when Pozzo appears to have lost his pipe, Estragon says Hes a scream. Hes lost his dudeen. This is a word coined by Beckett which does not seem to have any meaning, showing how Beckett uses language to confuse the audience, as it seems slightly ridiculous how Estragon makes up a word purely to rhyme with scream. The chaotic language in the play seems mainly on a humorous level, for example, in the second moment chosen Vladimir rushes off to relieve himself, while doing this Estragon shouts end of corridor on the left, even though both the characters and audience are aware they are in the middle of nowhere with just a tree. Both of the moments chosen show language to be in a state of chaos, thus supporting the opinion that nothing is certain in the play, although there are certain factors that make this statement debatable which should be taken into account, for example, Vladimir and Estragons relationship, they have known each other for a long time as they share memories etc. It can also be said that the certainty of some topics in the play is left up to the audience to understand, through the situation and the characters.

On this story, upon reading the title, I thought it will focus on basketball game and competitions but I think I am wrong because it was really about a young man who had bad experiences and struggled to survive. Early in the film, it shows a good friendship of Jim and his friends and where they studied in a Catholic School and a scholar through playing basketball together. It also shows how intelligent Jim is on writing which is great. Unfortunately, young Jim fell into the cruel world of life on the street and heavy drug abuse, smoking, and even stealing others things and money which many students and youth do the same thing in present as we see on televisions and in our society that many young people engage their selves to drugs. I have also witness on how they talk was really disrespectful and awful to hear for a reason that they are using some bad or negative words like motherfucker, fuck you etc. Furthermore, the movie also shows some immoral or wrong doings like the coach who is a gay that like to have sex with his student and also Jim who uses his body to be able to get money to buy drugs. The young characters in the film do lack moral compasses resulting from their poor decision-making. He even leave home because they are already addicted to drugs and doesn’t hear his mother’s advise which is not good to a young students like us. On this film, I have remember the verse in the bible that, ‘’you should honour your mother and father and you will have a long life’’ because of the wrong behaviour of Jim towards his mother that he doesn’t listen to. On the last part of the story, it shows the effects of the drugs like hallucinating and even out of control of their selves. But because of Reggie and his mother, Jim was saved. Overall, it was a mature movie and every young individuals should watch it because it shows how bad drugs, smoking that all of us should not try or let go. Lastly, I think the filmmaker wants us to recognize that this is not all Jim’s fault but it focuses on the various effects of the drugs because in the first place it was really fine, his life and even his career.
